These winged bowls are some of my favorite pots of the firing. The quiet and unadorned surface allowed the fire to express itself fully and uninhibited.
This bowl has it all. Blushes of pink/purple fade into coating of glossy, blue and green ash on the fire-facing side, dotted with bright white granules of silica sand. This fades gracefully into a yellow, dark maroon, and finally bright orange trail of flash.
Lined only partially with a stoney matte tan, but left much of the interior unglazed in order to accept some more atmospheric affects from the kiln.
