Blue Amber Chalice
An exploration of a new form that I'm calling a chalice.
It lies somewhere in between a cup, a goblet, and a vase, and should or could be used for any of those purposes.
Elegant and curvy, with a proclivity for style.
Heavy coating of ash gave one side a deep blue gray with rivers of light blue and green running through. Flashing in the lighter color zone with a warm orange/brown and yellow.
There's something about the proportions on this one that particularly tickles my fancy.
Lined with local ash glaze.
