Floral Chalice 2
An exploration of a new form that I'm calling a chalice.
It lies somewhere in between a cup, a goblet, and a vase, and should or could be used for any of those purposes.
Elegant and curvy, with a proclivity for style.
My favorite of this small batch of chalices. I tend to prefer the heavier ash coatings on these pieces with the carvings. The ash highlights the edges and pools slightly within the petals. There is also a slight variation in color within the flowers where the ash reacts with the slightly iron-bearing slip.
Lined with a gray/green celadon.
